Job Description:
Create detailed electrical design drawings. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design requirements are met. Review and analyse design specifications and standards. Perform engineering calculations to ensure switchboards meet safety and performance standards.
Design and develop Electrical Switchboard layouts, wiring single-line diagrams (SLD’s), and schematics for various types of switchboards, including Point of Entry cubicle (POE), Main Switchboards, Mechanical Switchboards and control panels.
Responsibilities:
- Create detailed electrical design drawings, including layouts, single-line diagrams (SLDs), and schematics for various switchboard types (POE cubicles, Main Switchboards, Mechanical Switchboards, control panels).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design requirements are met.
- Review and analyse design specifications and standards to ensure compliance and efficiency.
- Perform engineering calculations to verify switchboards meet safety and performance standards.
- Participate in design reviews, providing technical expertise and insights.
- Assist in the testing and commissioning of client switchboards.
- Stay updated with industry trends and technological advancements.
Required Qualifications/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, or equivalent industry experience with a proven track record.
- Experience in designing switchboards and electrical systems.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar electrical design software and tools.
- Strong knowledge of electrical design principles, standards, safety regulations, and switchboard regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Capability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to deliver high-quality work consistently.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to job sites as needed.
