An Exciting Opportunity for an Electrical Technician or Electrical Test Engineer
Safearth is on the lookout for an Electrical Technician or Electrical Test Engineer to join our expert team. In this role, you will collaborate within a team environment, offering specialised Electrical Testing and support services to our valued clients. Your role will involve promoting the company's services and providing support across various areas:
- Conducting site earthing testing and assessments at client locations in Queensland and eastern Australia.
- Engaging in Safearth's equipment laboratory activities at our Fortitude Valley office.
- Assisting our engineering team in aspects related to earthing system and lightning protection design.
- Performing analysis and preparing reports on completed testing, offering consulting advice to our clients.
- Prioritizing work health and safety.
This position is a blend of technical engineering, travel, site testing, client interaction, and close collaboration with the broader Safearth team to deliver specialized consulting services.
Does Your Ideal Job Encompass...
- Maintaining Safearth's equipment laboratory to the highest standards, including equipment repairs, maintenance, and test and tag, as well as coordinating test equipment bookings across the Safearth team.
- Office-based design and reporting at a level equivalent to your training.
- Assessing earthing system compliance in line with current safety standards.
- Continuous on-the-job learning to enhance your understanding of power and earthing systems, test equipment, and techniques.
- Regular travel to conduct site Electrical Testing at customer locations, often in partnership with experienced team members.
- A commitment to enhancing and upholding work health and safety standards both individually and as part of the team.
- Adherence to all procedures related to Safearth's work health and safety and risk management practices to ensure personal and collective safety and minimize risks to Safearth.
- Effective communication with customers at various levels when necessary.
- Efficient computer skills.
- Handling both supervised and unsupervised work tasks in accordance with your competency level.

What Would Make You Stand Out?
- An Electrical Trade License or Electrical Engineering degree.
- Previous experience in a utility, mining or construction environment (desirable but not essential).
- High Voltage and Substation experience (desirable).
- A current valid Australian driver's license.
- Ability to work both under supervision and independently while meeting defined objectives.
- Demonstrated capacity to plan and execute complex work tasks.
- Strong oral communication skills.
