The role
Electrician – Fixed Term assisting our Electrical team with an extensive maintenance and capital installation, work program.
With the expanding production and capital investment, there is opportunity to increase earning capacity by working overtime. Initially an offer of Fixed Term employment through to end of May with the opportunity for a second contract working through the crushing season to December 2024.
Qualifications and Experience
- Electrical Tradesperson holding a current Qld Electrical Work Licence – Fitter Mechanic or equivalent.
- Having some or all of the following experience whilst not critical, could be an advantage: Power generation, protection systems and HV / LV distribution systems, AC and DC variable speed drives, DCS, PLC and SCADA based control systems, welding machines, statutory testing and use and knowledge of SAP – Plant Maintenance.
As an Electrician in the sugar industry you will be exposed to a range of unique electrical equipment and technology. On day work you will work on installation, repair, maintenance, servicing, testing, modify, commission, calibration and fault finding of various forms of industrial electrical equipment and complex control systems. The expectation is that you provide trade guidance and assistance as part of a work team.
You must have effective communications skills and be self-motivated, safety conscious and able to work unsupervised. You must have the ability to work autonomously and in a team environment.

- Full time hours of employment. Work a roster that mostly consists of 4 x 9hr days additional hours worked to maintain the 38hr average week. Two teams one has Monday off the other Friday.
