The Role
We are looking for a qualified electrician to service the Brisbane, Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast area. We pride ourselves on our customer service so are looking for someone who is committed to delivering exceptional service to our valued customers, all while ensuring our operations run smoothly. In this role, you'll focus on fostering positive relationships with customers and teammates alike. You'll work efficiently to control costs and operate at peak performance levels. Meeting the service objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs) set by our Customer Support Department will be key to your success.
Key responsibilities:
Align with the RED values and mission while carrying out the responsibilities of the role of inspecting, and maintaining smoke alarm systems in residential class 1a and 2 buildings. Overall, as a Red Smoke Alarm Electrician, you will play a crucial role in helping to protect lives and property by ensuring that
smoke detection systems are installed correctly, maintained properly, and function reliably.
- Installation: Installing Red Smoke Alarms according to building codes, manufacturer specifications, and industry standards. This involves mounting alarms in appropriate locations, wiring systems correctly, and ensuring proper functionality.
- Inspection: Conducting thorough inspections of existing smoke detection systems to ensure they are in good working condition and comply with regulations. This may involve testing alarms, checking batteries, and verifying that alarms are functioning properly.
- Maintenance: Performing maintenance tasks on Red Smoke Alarms, such as cleaning components, replacing batteries, and repairing or replacing malfunctioning parts as needed.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnosing and troubleshooting issues with Red Smoke Alarm systems, including identifying faulty components, wiring problems, or other technical issues, and implementing appropriate solutions.
- Documentation: Maintaining accurate records of installations, inspections, maintenance activities, and repairs. This includes documenting compliance with regulatory requirements and providing detailed reports to Red HQ.
- Customer Service: Providing excellent customer service by addressing client concerns, answering questions about Red Smoke Alarm systems.
- Compliance: Ensuring that all installations and maintenance activities comply with relevant building codes, fire safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Training: Staying current on new technologies, products, and industry best practices related to Red Smoke Alarm systems. This may involve attending training sessions, workshops to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Teamwork: Collaborating with other staff members at Red, contractors, and building managers to coordinate installations, inspections, and maintenance activities effectively.
- Safety: Adhering to safety protocols and procedures to minimize risks of accidents or injuries while working with electrical systems and other potentially hazardous equipment.
Qualifications/Skills/Experience
- Australian Electrical Licence - Construction Card
- Drivers Licence
- Current CPR/LVR
- Demonstrated technical skills with the ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair down to the component level of a wide range of electronic equipment or similar.
- Must have a sound understanding of good workshop practices and a strong commitment to SAFE working practices.
- Demonstrated experience working with a variety of concurrent projects, including the ability to prioritise tasks and work to close deadlines.
- Demonstrated commitment to a high standard of customer service, strong interpersonal skills, and an ability to engage effectively in writing and in person.

- RSA’s office is located on the Sunshine Coast at Kunda Park.
- Permanent/ Full-time role, Monday – Friday.
