About us

Flaming North Fire Protection is a family-owned company providing Scheduled servicing & asset management to all fire equipment as well as fire safety & warden training, Evacuation Diagrams, Fire alarm panels, Sprinkler services as well as Fire suppression servicing and installation.  We deliver our service across a range of industries with a strong presence in far north Queensland. The role is an integral part of the team and is critical in supporting the business within our Service division.

About the opportunity:

Your duties will include but are not limited to. 

  • Inspection service and maintenance of fixed fire detection systems
  • Ability to fault find and trouble shoot fire detection systems.
  • Gather information while onsite to quote repair / rectification work and understand what the requirements are according to Australian Standards.
  • Survey customer premises and recommend fire protection and safety systems and equipment
  • Identify, service, and repair electrical fire protection, safety systems and equipment.
  • Complete and provide evidence of maintenance performed on equipment in an accurate and legible manner.
  • Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment in good working order.
  • Report work progress and performance by completing reports.
  • Liaising with management and the client to ensure the job is completed in a timely manner and to our high-quality expectations.
  • Good written & Communication skills.
  • Must be willing to work in other areas of the business (e.g., facilities and general maintenance).

What we are looking for:

You are a well-rounded process driven individual and possess the following:

  • A certificate III in electro technologies or certetificate III in fire protection control  (must have) 
  • Previous maintenance experience in testing and maintaining Fixed fire detection systems
  • To be able to work in a team environment and aiding in the development /mentoring of up and coming Fire detection control apprentices 
  • Certificate II or III in Fire Protection (desired not essential).
  • QBCC current licencing (desired not essential)
  • Honest, reliable, and proactive with a strong sense of accountability and responsibility.
  • Ability to work unsupervised in a team environment.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Safety Focused and Highly Motivated with interest to further skills and learning.
  • Current Australian Driver’s license.
  • Australian Permanent Resident.
  • Current Police Certificate Clearance or willing to undergo.
  • Working with children check (employee) required or willing to obtain.
