About the Opportunity
Aspire's rapid expansion present an exciting opportunity for a Childcare Project & Design Coordinator to join our team.
As the Project & Design Coordinator, your responsibility will be to supervise development projects, ensuring successful and timely outcomes across Aspire's national portfolio.
The Project & Design Coordinator plays a pivotal role in harmonising design elements with project objectives and timelines, ensuring seamless progress. Serving as a liaison between Aspire and external developers, this role facilitates effective communication and coordination of projects. By managing information flow and resources, the Project & Design Coordinator ensures precise adherence to design specifications, project timelines, and efficient realisation of creative vision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee construction timelines and delivery, including site plan management, amendments, and landscaping design.
- Conduct site progress visits and supervise defect walkthroughs and rectification processes.
- Negotiate handover dates and secure Occupancy Permits (OP).
- Effectively communicate construction pipeline milestones.
- Promote innovation in interior, exterior, and landscaping design.
- Coordinate and facilitate meetings among Aspire and stakeholders to ensure project alignment and prompt communication.
- Review and disseminate design documents, blueprints, and specifications to relevant team members, ensuring precision and adherence to project requirements.
- Manage vendor negotiations and oversee budgets to achieve project financial objectives.
- Act as a liaison between the start-up team and other departments (e.g., marketing, operations) to harmonise design concepts throughout the company.
- Ensure quality control of design outputs, guaranteeing that all work meets or exceeds project quality standards and Aspire's expectations.
- Experience dealing with planning departments.
- Looking at what the design is, what can we do to add more places or value, for a better design outcome.
About You
- Bachelor's degree in construction, Interior Design, Architecture, Landscape, or related field.
- Sound knowledge of design requirements for childcare spaces.
- 5+ years of experience as a Landscaper, Draftsperson, Architect or Designer, with experience specifically within Childcare Design.
- Ability to coordinate and manage consultants, authorities, and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in project budgeting, monitoring, and reporting.
- Strong analytical skills to identify cost-saving opportunities and optimize project profitability.
- Expertise in overseeing project closeout activities.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to prepare and deliver project updates, reports, and presentations to senior management and stakeholders.
