Established in 1989, WATMAR has developed a sound reputation in the Australian marine and defence sectors as a Fluid System Engineering Specialist. WATMAR is headquartered in Naval Base, Western Australia and operates from Perth, Darwin and Sydney, providing four main business lines: Fluid Systems and Equipment, Engineering Services, Engineering Contracting and Asset Management Services. WATMAR was recently acquired by the WestStar Industrial Limited (ASX:WSI) group. This acquisition provides WATMAR with stability into the future allowing us to strengthen our capabilities and expand our work team.
WATMAR have multiple positions available for experienced and qualified Electricians to join our local team in Naval Base. You will be servicing a large range of Industrial, and Marine projects including Defence Naval projects, with some works being conducted in water.
About the Role
- Diagnose malfunctioning systems and components using hand tools
- Locate malfunctions and rectify the issues
- Perform electrical maintenance and installation as directed
- Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures based on job specifications
- Ability to localise faults on basic electrical circuits
- Inspect and test electronical systems and components to ensure they comply with the relevant electrical codes
- Assist with training/working with apprentices
- Perform administration duties i.e. complete documentation for installations
- Ensure all WATMAR equipment is used in a responsible manner
- Equipment issues are reported immediately
- Other duties as directed

Essential Criteria
- White Card
- Industry recognised Electrical Licence
- Relevant Trade Certification/Qualifications
- Current Drivers Licence
- Good communication skills and ability to work within a team
- Positive and proactive approach to safety
- National Police Clearance
- Willing to under go a pre-employment medical
Desirable Criteria
- Defence and/or Marine Industry Experience
- Willingness to work overtime if required
- Forklift Licence
- Rigging/dogging/Working at Heights/Confined Spaces tickets
