Haycolec Services provide customised, affordable and sustainable end to end solutions to meet your specific electrical maintenance and upgrade needs. Our client portfolio includes major shopping centres, hospitals, commercial buildings/sites and industrial plants.
Our business is rapidly growing and as a result we are looking for licensed electricians to join our team.
The must have’s:
Trades Certificate/s, Electrical licence.
Minimum of 6 years of experience as an electrician
Experience with cabling and fault finding
Demonstrate a professional approach in the workplace and execute work of a high standard
Ability to work independently and make responsible decisions
Communicate information clearly and work effectively in a team
Desirable:
Instrumentation, communications cabling
Ability to manage, coordinate, motivate and control direct labour
Experience in the following: general maintenance, commercial installations and communications installations
Software knowledge i.e., Word and Excel
Duties and responsibilities
1. Installation
Cable/wiring support protection, including: aerial/catenary support, metallic and non-metallic conduit, trunking, and underground systems
Power and control cabling, including: armoured cables, fire rated cables and thermoplastic cable (insulated, sheathed flat, sheathed circular)
Network communication cables, including: coaxial, optic fibre, structured (cat 6), patchcords and telephone (cat 3 / 4)
2. Installation and maintenance
Low voltage switchboards
Control devices - heating and lighting
Protection devices – circuit breakers and fuses
DC motors and controls – single phase, synchronous and three phase
3. Testing procedures
Including: continuity, insulation, polarity, correct connections (e.g. switching as intended), isolation, loop impedance, calibration, leakage and load current
4. Paperwork
Including: Haycolec SWMS and SOP’s, client site/project specific forms, electronic job cards and time sheets, delivery dockets, purchase orders, invoices and supply authority and ESV prescribed and non-prescribed forms.
5. Conduct and performance
Team
Assist apprentices/trainees to maintain accurate and up-to-date log books
Coordinate, motivate and control direct labour and administration support personnel
Skills and work
Current and relevant Driver’s Licence and Electrical Trade Licence
Work in local and interstate areas, as required (except in special circumstances)
Undertake and complete training, as required
Be available for after hours call outs and for scheduled works, as required
Work in organised teams and contribute to a successful outcome
Treat all Company and client information as confidential
Strictly adhere to all relevant Australian Standards and Codes of Practice
Strictly adhere to all Company policies, procedures, instructions and directives (including quality assurance, quality control requirements, and grievance procedures)
