About the role:We currently have an exciting opportunity for a full time Electrician to join our Maintenance team. Reporting directly to the Maintenance Supervisor, key responsibilities include undertaking maintenance, repairs and modification of electrical equipment.
Key responsibilities include:- Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electrical wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures using hand tools and power tools.
- Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, and electrical code specifications to determine layout of industrial electrical equipment installations.
- Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects and the need for adjustment or repair and to ensure compliance with codes.
- Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
- Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown.
- Maintain and repair switchgear, transformers, switchboard meters, regulators, and reactors as well as electrical motors, generators, alternators, industrial storage batteries and hydraulic and pneumatic electrical control systems.
- Relevant Electrical Trade Qualification essential
- Strong understanding of WHS standards
- Excellent organization and problem-solving skills
