About the role
We are currently seeking highly motivated Electrical Technicians who are interested in moving to Newman and joining our Newman Operations residential teams.
Newman Operations is part of Western Australian Iron Ore and consists of two mining sites in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, on the traditional lands of the Nylyaparli people. Comprising of Newman East and Newman West - Newman Operations accounts for about 78 million tonnes in total Iron Ore production. In your role your primary duties will include but are not limited to the following:
- Demonstrate an overriding commitment to health, safety, environment responsibility, sustainable development and team engagement in all aspects of work.
- Preventative maintenance, inspections, repairs, attending breakdowns and running complex diagnostics/testing and fault finding of all fixed plant equipment.
- High Voltage Switching of all Fixed Plant Electrical equipment.
- Identifying and rectifying faults during inspections and following specific maintenance programs
- Initiating updates to work procedures to ensure they are accurate and relevant to equipment.
- Providing input into root cause analysis and subsequent resolution of issues affecting equipment reliability
- Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and assist in the implementing of the new initiatives in a constructive way.

About You
As the successful candidate, you will possess the following:
- A commitment to safety, quality and attention to detail and procedure
- A Grade Electrical License
- High Voltage Switching Certification (preferred)
- Current valid C Class drivers licence
- EWP / Working at Heights
