As part of our dedication to quality, we are seeking a skilled Electronic Instrument Trades Worker (Special Class) to join our team in Fairfield Melbourne.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform regular preventing maintenance, diagnosing issues, and repairing controllers, sensors, transmitters, and other devices that measure and control variables like pressure, temperature, flow, and level in industrial equipment.
- Integrate new machines or control systems into the production line and ensuring communication between different machines in the production process.
- Calibrate and test the Electronic Instruments and equipment (Sensors, transmitters, feedback dives, etc) to guarantee accuracy and configure control parameters for optimal functionality.
- Modify, test and update distributed control systems (DCS), control programs and programming logic controller (PLCs) and other automation systems
- Investigate and diagnose controller and component issues, root causes of malfunctions and develop solutions for all electrical and electronic systems issues.
- Maintain precise record-keeping and documentation associated with Electronic Instruments and control systems.
- Remain upgrading and modifying existing electronic control systems to meet new requirements or improve efficiency.
- Collaborate with production team, management, and other professionals to achieve seamless integration of our electronic systems and industrial processes.
- Verify that electronic systems and instruments adhere to safety standards and regulatory requirements.
- Provide instruction and guidance to fellow workers on the usage and upkeep of Electronic Instruments.
- Keep an updated inventory of spares parts, tools, supplies needed for the Electronic Instruments and control systems.
- Analyse and resolve problems that come across with the Electronic Instruments and control systems.
- Respond adequately to emergencies situations and have a contingency plan backup for the systems or alternative production methods.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Certificate IV or higher in Instrumentation and Control or a related field, or certificate III with at least 2 years of experience
- Proven experience of 2 years as an Electronic Instrument Trades Worker, preferably with specialised knowledge in electronic equipment installation, maintenance, and repair.
- Strong technical skills, including proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting electronic systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly and concisely.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to safety and compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
