Five Star Painting is seeking a skilled Painting Trades Worker to join our team in Lara, required mostly to work in and around Geelong area. Responsibilities include preparing surfaces, applying paint, and ensuring high-quality finishes. A formal qualification and relevant experience is a must. - Prepare surfaces for painting cleaning out old paint and wallpapers, apply fillers, sanding and cleaning if required.
- Apply paint and varnishes by using different brushes, rollers and spray guns.
- Applying all kind of paints like acrylic, oil-based paints, weather shield paint, water based and glossy paints.
- Apply final coat of paint as and where required.
- Secure the painting area from any damage by laying drop sheets, plastic sheets to protect adjacent areas from paint splattering and applying masking tape around the windows and glass.
- Secure all the openings and spaces between the doors to avoid dust coming and going out.
- Preparing the site for painting by cleaning, sanding, and removing the old paint and wallpapers where required.
- Follow workplace health and safety regulations
A successful applicant must have a formal qualification an AQF Certificate III in painting and decorating and at least 2 years of full-time work experience.
The Position is available full time, 38 hours/week and the applicant must be flexible and be available to work on the weekends and early shifts when required. Sufficient notice will be given.
You must also have an Australian driving license and a vehicle and be willing to travel across Victoria to perform work in urban and regional locations.
