EPE is a great Australian success story. As an Australian veteran-owned business, we supports 20 different agencies of the Commonwealth with specialist capability, training, through life support and project management. In 2020 EPE won the NZDF Minister for Defence Award for Excellence; and we also have significant operations in the U.S. and Indonesia.
A number of our staff are ex-Defence or ex-law enforcement personnel. Keeping people safe, and caring for people, is in our DNA. We provide a workplace which is a fun, enjoyable and a safe place to come to work everyday.
EPE require the services of a Maintenance Technician based on the inner northside of Brisbane, to help service an exciting new 5+5 yr Defence contract.
The Roles
We are looking for a motivated, self-directed electronics Repair and Maintenance Technician. The role will be based on a Defence site and will be responsible for the ongoing maintenance and calibration of a range of life science equipment - think x-ray, spectroscopy, chemical and biometric analysis, photographic, and fingerprinting.
You will be part of a small team of technicians based on site, including EPE's Facility Manager. There is also a back-up team of Through Life Support / Maintenance Technicians at EPE HQ in Spring Hill, who you will be able to lean on for support; as well as the OEM's who are available to guide you through repairs and scheduled maintenance requirements and who you are expected to be in regular contact with.
The Project requires the dozens of different types (multiple units of most types) of brand new technical equipment to all be in working order at any point in time; and for the testing facility which they are part of to be portable and able to be deployed, occasionally, as part of Defence exercises. There will be variety in your week to week schedule and it will be critical you can work well in a small team environment; as well as alongside Defence personnel.
Successfully following detailed technical procedures and complex Commonwealth processes will be key to discharging the roles successfully.
There is some chance successful candidates would need to be deployed with the facility during Defence training exercises, but you should not apply for the role on the expectation this will happen.
Potential candidates who are currently working with medical or scientific equipment are encouraged to apply.
