About the role
We are seeking to appoint a collaborative ElectronicsService Technician to join our dynamic Technical Service team, able to hit the ground running to respond to service request, diagnosing efficiently and accurately, then repairing returned product from our customers. This role will see you leverage your technical expertise, using diagnostic tools, and ongoing continuous improvement initiatives and processes, to identify problems and replace faulty parts down to the component level.
How you will make an impact
As our ElectronicsService Technician you will be:
- Perform fault diagnosis, repair and rework on Directed Technologies OEM product range including AVN/Multimedia, Telematics etc. according to released specifications.
- Work from circuit diagrams and/or verbal instructions to repair or modify assemblies.
- Perform a wide variety of electronics rework tasks in support of all refurbishment requirements including updating firmware as needed.
- Perform hand solder & reflow as needed for SMT & Through-hole components, add Jumper wire, remove/install components per IPC-A-610 Class 2 and Class 3.
- Active participation in ongoing meetings within the Service and Technicians team and identify areas to improve processes, communication, product, and workflows.
- Accurately record diagnosis and repair outcomes on customer Ticketing Systems.
The successful candidate
Our ideal candidate for this Electronics Service Technician role is a driven, influential communicator, and hands on leader who can demonstrate:
- 3+ years’ experience in a Service Technicians role within a similar electronics manufacturing/product company or testing laboratory.
- Basic understanding of ISO 9001 practices.
- Working in a role with extended periods of sitting or standing.
- Proficient in removal and replacing electronic components and thru-hole devices using hot air and/or soldering stations.
- Good hand dexterity and coordination to work with small and electronics components.
- Ability to read and interpret circuit diagrams and assembly instructions.
- A proactive and collaborative mindset, able to work with minimal supervision and strong time management skills.
- Passion for working in a dynamic electronics and service environment.
