The Tool Chrome Company is a surface coating and metal engineering specialist providing Hard Chrome Plating and thermal metal coating technologies to Australia’s Mining, Construction, Defence and Manufacturing industries for over forty years. We are a highly experienced provider to the mining and earth moving supply chain, providing component rebuild remanufacturing and repair services for hydraulic cylinders and other working components. From our extensive facility in Wingfield, SA, we have Australia’s deepest vertical plating tanks, extensive metal spray solutions, extensive cylindrical grinding, linishing and polishing services, bore honing and welding facilities.

About the role
The Electroplating Workshop performs routine duties essentially of a manual nature under the direction and guidance of the Electroplating Supervisor. Within this role the employee is primarily responsible for the delivery of operational procedures and processes for all services required within the hard chrome plating stage of production.
General tasks & responsibilities
- Preparation and set-up of items in readiness for a successful plating process
- Installation of items to be plated within allocated plating tanks
- Monitoring of plating process and the measurement of chrome plate coating
- Clean up and breakdown of plated items in readiness for next stage of production process
- Following of operational and standard work procedures (SOPs) as instructed
- Recording of job progress status reports and job sheet administration duties
- Procedural reporting and process documentation
- Operation of cranes, lifting devices and forklifts
- Coordination and movement of parts throughout the procedural repair processes
- General maintenance of working area, plant and equipment
Other requirements
- Attention to detail and high levels of quality control
- Use of precision measuring equipment
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
- Requirement to work overtime and rostered weekend hours
