The Adelaide Institute of Business & Technology (AIBT), a Registered Training Organisation, is in search of an Academic English Language Instructor/Trainer for face-to-face delivery at our Melbourne campus, catering specifically to international students. The role involves delivering the English for Academic Purposes (EAP) program in line with the relevant curriculum objectives.
Responsibilities Include:- Identifying student needs and organizing learning activities that are appropriate and relevant focusing on student-centered approach.
- Evaluating and assessing student learning.
- Engaging with students across all levels and backgrounds.
- Enhancing classroom learning and teaching by implementing flexible methodologies to accommodate diverse learning styles.
- Completing all teaching-related administrative tasks accurately and within required deadlines.
- Attending and participating in Staff Meetings & Professional Development Sessions.
This position is ideal for candidates who are passionate about English language education and are committed to delivering high-quality teaching to international students.
About you
- Current vocational and industry experience that is directly relevant to delivering English for Academic Purposes program.
- Evidence of recent and relevant Professional Development in the areas of:
- Vocational education and training
- Skills and knowledge in the English language teaching industry
- Excellent understanding of TESOL methodology, programs, and assessment practices
- Demonstrated ability to manage and genuinely support students to achieve quality outcomes in line with training package requirements.
- Strong skills in the Microsoft Office suite of software
- Knowledge of the Canvas Learning Management and JobReady Student Management Systems will be highly regarded.
- Current Working with Children Check (as per state requirements)
- Must have the right to work in Australia.
Essential Qualifications
- Recognised Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent)
- A recognised TESOL qualification
- Current Trainer/Assessor qualification (TAE40116 or above) or equivalent
Essential Clearances and Checks
The successful candidate will be required to undertake a Working with Children Check with the Victorian Australian Government. You must also have the right to work in Australia.
The remuneration is competitive and will be dependent upon the successful applicant’s qualifications and experience.
