We have an incredible opportunity for an Email Marketing Specialist. We’re looking for someone with proven experience in email campaigns, automation and segmentation to take responsibility for planning, developing and delivering best-practice Email Marketing.
You will be responsible for the design, copywriting, management and reporting of email and SMS campaigns and automations. You will manage the Customer Relationship Management program (CRM), optimising performance and recommending ways to help us deliver on our mission to be the best part of someone’s day at every touchpoint in the customer journey.
The role is part of a small but mighty team that is growing. Upstate is scaling nationally and this role is set to grow with us to take the Upstate brand and mission into new markets.

As a passionate and experienced Email Marketing Specialist, you have a proven track record in executing email campaigns and automations. Your meticulous attention to detail ensures that every interaction adds value to the customer journey.
You are driven to understand and master a platform for best use. You will bring our vision for creating engaging and personalised customer journeys to life and help find ways to delight members at every brand touchpoint.
You are creative and have a strong analytical mindset, enabling you to design visually compelling campaigns while also diving deep into email metrics to drive continuous improvement. You thrive in a dynamic environment and are ready to be a key player in our marketing team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manage Email Marketing from start to finish across the business including campaigns and flows across email, SMS, push notifications and in-app messaging.
• Write creative and persuasive copy for email and SMS campaigns that drive engagement and conversions, while staying true to the Upstate tone of voice.
• Conceptualise and design compelling and engaging email campaigns.
• Technical set-up and implementation of all email campaigns.
• Optimise current member journeys, build out new journeys, identify and build out segmentation, triggers and template setups needed to execute across all member touchpoints.
• Drive innovation within the member journey, come up with new ideas and recommendations
• Test and validate automated campaign setups to achieve conversions and retention of our new and loyal members.
• Analyse campaign and flow performance and provide insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
• Measurement, Reporting and Optimisation
• Stay updated with industry trends and competitor activities to ensure our Email Marketing strategies are cutting-edge.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree in marketing/communications/business or a related field of study.
• Minimum 2 year’s experience in an Email Marketing role.
• Experience in design software such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
• Knowledge of Email Marketing best practices and experience using Email Marketing and CRM software.
• Understanding of branding principles and ability to maintain brand consistency.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Highly creative
• High attention to detail with design, grammar and tone of voice.
• Highly analytical, able to understand email metrics and implement strategies to increase results.
This role primarily involves working from home but requires occasional in-person meetings at either our Geelong or Melbourne studio offices.
