About the Role:Are you a dedicated and experienced Social Worker (SW) or Occupational Therapist (OT) ready to take your career to the next level? Look no further! Central Adelaide Local Health Network (CALHN) is seeking exceptional OTs and SWs with a passion for working with people experiencing psychosocial difficulties to join our Emergency Multidisciplinary Assessment team (EMAT).EMAT have new dedicated SW and OT positions working collaboratively with the Royal Adelaide Hospital Mental Health Program to provide a service for people presenting to the Emergency Department (ED) with complex psychosocial difficulties, such as situational crisis in the context of homelessness. EMAT clinicians providing this service offer expert advice and advocacy including counselling, referral to community services, accommodation assistance and discharge planning to improve social and health outcomes and achieve safe and appropriate discharge options. These positions present a unique opportunity for someone looking for a new challenge to broaden their ED, acute or community mental health skills. With no two days alike, the EMAT work closely with broader multidisciplinary teams, sharing expertise and knowledge to support our patient's medical, psychosocial, physical, spiritual and cultural needs.The EMAT is well-established within CALHN, providing a 7-day service at the Royal Adelaide Hospital (RAH) and Queen Elizabeth Hospital (TQEH) and working across the ED, inpatient and community settings. EMAT is underpinned by the Discharge to Assess Model of Care which aims to expediate discharge for patients who are medically optimised and no longer require an acute admission but may require support to transition safety back to the community.EMAT clinicians have advanced clinical skills and knowledge relevant to their specific discipline and participate in quality improvement, research, and education to support best practice and optimise service delivery.Please see role descriptions and duty statements for further information.About CALHNThe Central Adelaide Local Health Network includes South's Australia's major quaternary facility, the Royal Adelaide Hospital, The Queen Elizabeth Hospital, the Hampstead Rehabilitation Centre, and the Repat Health Precinct.
