If you are an Electronic or Electrical Engineer with experience in development of embedded systems products with a focus on hardware - we are looking for YOU to take part in full lifecycle product development in a highly supportive team environment !
Working alongside hardware designers and other embedded software developers you'll have hands-on experience in hardware development, electronics manufacturing, PCB prototyping and rework, hardware testing, fault-finding and harness manufacturing.
Your duties will include:
- Design, manufacture and maintain equipment and tools for supporting development and manufacture of embedded systems products for heavy-haul rail.
- Design and perform hardware tests.
- Design and manufacture simulators, test fixtures and wiring harnesses.
- Design and manufacture PCBs, PCBAs and enclosures.
- Develop and maintain equipment/tool associated software and documentation.
- Fault-find to the component level.
- Provide input to the design of embedded products for rail applications.
- A bachelor's degree qualification in Electronic or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Excellent understanding of the fundamentals of electronics.
- Comprehension of component datasheets and circuit schematics.
- Circuit design and analysis.
- Knowledge of popular microcontroller architectures.
- Design and PCBs, enclosures, hardware accessories and wiring harnesses.
- Effective use of tools including multimeters, oscilloscopes and debug probes.
- PCBA-level fault-finding, soldering and rework.
- Embedded software development with C/C++ or Python is advantageous.
- Knowledge of environmental and EMC/EMI validation is advantageous.
- Passion for identifying issues and discovering ways to fix them.
- Ability to apply creative thinking to solve problems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
