The Organisation
You will work in a medium-large metropolitan ED in a medium-sized general hospital. The hospital is going through an exciting time of integrating models of care with the larger territory facility and commencing planning for a new hospital.
The ED sees ~ 62500 patients per year, with approximately 15% paediatric presentations.
The new billion-dollar hospital is underway and will be a modern, state-of-the-art hospital for patients, visitors, and its workforce. It will also provide more beds and increased services.
The Job
- You will join a collegiate team of experienced FACEMs in an exciting period of growth and development
- ED Consultants work in partnership with other members of the Emergency Department team, have accountability for day-to-day operations of the service and endeavour to ensure that clinical, strategic and key performance indicators are met
- You will play a key role in ensuring that care delivery and clinical outcomes within the service reflect best practices
- Potential for FACEMs to be involved in the Regional Aeromedical Retrieval
- You will have the opportunity to supervise Registrars and Junior Medical Officers and provide education and training across the team
- There is also the opportunity to conduct, supervise and encourage research and quality assurance activities

Requirements
- Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Emergency Medicine (FACEM) or equivalent
