Make a difference as an Employment LawyerJoin the largest general insurance group in New Zealand and Australia.YOUR ROLEStep into this Employment Lawyer role and work with a dedicated, experienced and supportive Employment Legal Team that's part of the Legal and Company Secretariat (LCS) function at IAG.You will work on a broad range of matters across IAG's operations in Australia and New Zealand, including advising on employment law, compliance, industrial relations, work health and safety and corporate governance. You will work closely with a variety of stakeholders including IAG's People Performance & Reputation function which has significant depth and experience including across Employee Relations, Case Management, Culture & Diversity and Safe & Well.As an Employment Lawyer, you will champion, and support legal compliance and ethical practices whilst building on strong partnerships and collaboration within a high performing team. In this influential role, you will develop close relationships with a diverse group of professionals.ABOUT YOU
- Minimum of 4 years (PQE) proven experience within a specialist employment legal team in either a reputable firm or blue chip corporate legal practice, with expertise in employment law and work health and safety.
- You have strong technical legal, drafting and communication skills and are able to convey legal concepts and advice effectively and succinctly that's tailored to your audience.
- You have strong stakeholder management skills and are proactive in understanding the business and embedding yourself in the organisation.
- You manage your matters and time well, and you work effectively with external counsel.
- Are able to work collaboratively whilst also being able to work autonomously.
- You're eager to learn and to continue developing your professional skills and legal practice.
