One vacancy is available working in both Darwin and Palmerston
Fixed for 12 months
The position will be operating at the level of a consultant endocrinologist, however with support and supervision from all Royal Darwin Hospital (RDH) endocrinologists. The objective is to provide high quality specialist care in Endocrinology to patients within RDH, and across the network of hospitals; contribute to teaching/training at undergraduate, postgraduate and community levels; and further develop and enhance endocrinology services in the Northern Territory.
Key duties and responsibilities
• Provide high quality safe inpatient, outpatient and outreach clinical services in Endocrinology.
• Initiate and partake in quality management activities, performance appraisal, personal and Departmental continuing education programs.
• Ensure adequate supervision of and participation in teaching programs for junior medical staff, including advanced trainees and medical students.
• Undertake Clinical Audit activities and research as appropriate.
Selection criteria
Essential
• Eligible for specialist medical registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA).
• Appropriate specialist qualifications and Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, or working towards.
• Training in a sub-specialty area of Internal Medicine with a sub-specialty care in Endocrinology.
