About the Role
The primary role and responsibility of the Instrument/ Endoscopy Scope Processing Technician is to ensure the effective and efficient processing of reusable medical devices, in accordance with AS/NZS 4187 and within the policy and guidelines of the Sterile Processing Centre and State and National Standards. You will work independently in Endoscopy suite as an advanced technician to provide the full range of reprocessing services, including, but not limited to;
- Decontamination
- Assembly and packaging
- Sterilization and High Level disinfection
- Sterile storage
Classification for this position will be IN4 ($68,486.60 per annum, pro rata)
Your Contribution
- Recent experience as Instrument Technician
- Holds a Certificate 3 (minimum) in Sterilization Services or equivalent qualification awarded by a registered training organisation, recognised by the Employer as such
- Demonstrated understanding of reprocessing of RMD procedures and processes
- Demonstrated ability to read, understand and interpret complex reprocessing of RMD procedures/guidelines
- Demonstrated ability to articulate policies and procedures, and communicate with all hospital personnel and external customers/suppliers to attain provision of service
- Demonstrated ability to work with a high degree of autonomy

About Rapid Access Hub (RAH)
In partnership with the Victoria Government, SVHM is operating St Vincent's Hospital on the Park (SVHP) to support the state-wide Rapid Access hub. The East Melbourne site, located at 11 Cathedral Place, previously was home to the Peter McCallum Cancer Centre and Royal Eye and Ear Hospital. As a nominated state-wide Rapid Access Hub SVHP will accommodate the running of four procedural rooms and a Recovery Room on Level one and a Day of Surgery centre on Level 5. This is a wonderful opportunity to be involved in day of surgery management with focused specialities including Plastics, Orthopaedics, General, Urology, Endoscopy and more.
