About the Role: We are seeking a compassionate and semi-experienced Disability Support Worker to assist a 19-year-old female with ADHD and anxiety, who has a 5-month-old baby. The ideal candidate will be a nurturing and understanding individual who can provide social, emotional, and practical support. This role requires someone who is patient, empathetic, and skilled in managing challenging behaviors with a calming presence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day support, including helping with the baby, meal preparation, and household tasks.
- Offer emotional support and act as a calming voice of reason during outbursts.
- Assist in building the client’s skills for managing motherhood, daily routines, and finding time for self-care.
- Foster a positive and non-judgmental environment to support the client’s mental and emotional well-being.
- Support the client in social activities and encourage positive social interactions.
- Help the client develop coping strategies for managing ADHD and anxiety.
Requirements:
- Preferably female and of the same culture (Australian)
- Current Police Check.
- Working with Children Clearance.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to drive to Wallan.
- Experience working with children and families, ideally with personal experience as a parent.
- Understanding of ADHD and anxiety, with strategies for support.
- Non-judgmental, compassionate, and caring attitude.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Patience and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- A positive and encouraging approach to support the client’s personal growth and skill development.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the varying needs of the client and her baby.
- A genuine passion for helping others and making a positive impact on their lives.
