An excellent and rare opportunity waits an Energy Network Systems Manager to provide management and leadership for the Energy Network Systems team. The successful candidate will be accountable for leading a team of engineers and specialists accountable for the Advanced Energy Management Systems (AEMS) platform and associated applications that delivers the SCADA systems for our Electricity Transmission, Electricity Distribution and Gas Distribution networks.
This is a rare opportunity to lead one of the industry’s most experienced and dynamic teams of SCADA engineers, designers, and developers at the forefront of managing not just Victoria’s Transmission network, but also an electricity distribution network and a gas distribution network. As the Energy Network Systems Manager, you will be at the forefront of managing the systems that run, control, and protect the networks, and are helping orchestrate Victoria’s shift to a renewable energy future.
With a Hybrid split (Office/WFH), this role is based in the Melbourne CBD working within the Energy Network Systems team within our Digital Services department.
This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to:
- Delivering a strategic transformation across the Energy Network Systems team
- Proactively drive Cyber Security standards for the SCADA platforms
- Being adaptive to changes and innovation in the OT landscape that can help us grow our network, innovate, and build on our strong foundations to transition to Australia’s cleaner energy future
- Delivery for all AEMS and associated platforms, including design, delivery and management of associated Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Plans
- Delivery of 7x24x365 support for all AEMS and associated platforms, communications links (ICCP etc.) under a 15-minute response, 4-hour resolution SLA to our Control Room and by extension the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO)
- Providing specialist subject matter expertise into a range of business and technology functions (e.g. network design, network planning, transmission operations, distribution operations, and regulation, architecture, etc)
- You will own and be accountable for developing and managing a rolling 5-year roadmap across all of the AEMS platform and associated applications
- Be accountable for the development and management of a range of Network Engineering application for protection, management, and support of the networks
You don’t need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:
- Extensive knowledge and experience of SCADA systems, including an in depth knowledge of the principals, techniques and practices for developing and supporting SCADA platforms, software and hardware systems in the utility industry or similar industry, mandatory
- Power Systems knowledge, Power network design, setup and modelling, highly desirable
- Bachelor’s Degree qualification in Electrical Engineering or Digital/Technology related field, highly desirable
- People leadership of a large team needing to transition through a period of significant change, mandatory
- Extensive knowledge of system and network security, highly desirable
