Engineering Apprenticeship - Composites Trade
 
As a Fabrication Apprentice you will dive into the exciting world of creating composite materials and components. You will team up with experienced composites technicians and engineers who will show you the ropes and help you to level up your skills in composite fabrication. It will be an invaluable step in your career path that promises growth and a hands-on experience.
 
About the role:
  • Prepare composite materials by cutting, shaping, and organizing components as per specifications.
  • Maintain molds for production, ensuring they are clean and in good condition.
  • Layup composite materials onto molds, ensuring proper alignment.
  • Assist in bonding operations using adhesives and resins.
  • Help in the curing process by operating equipment for temperature and pressure control.
  • Trim and finish composite parts using tools and machinery.
  • Inspect and ensure the quality of fabricated components.
  • Maintain records of materials and report any issues to supervisors.
  • Follow safety protocols and relevant regulations in the workshop.
 
About you:
  • Maturity and a positive attitude
  • Effective English reading, writing and communication skills
  • Positive attitude with an eagerness to learn and follow instruction
  • Basic knowledge of mathematics, geometry, and measurements.
  • Australian drivers license and reliable transport
  • The successful candidate will undergo a Certificate III in Engineering at trade school.
