AddressWe are working with a leading Defence MSP client who are seeking an experienced Certification Lead to oversee a certification assurance program.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate, manage, and report on the certification assurance program across sustainment activities in engineering and maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with Defence and Navy Policy, statutory and classification society rules and regulations.
- Manage certification sets for equipment and materials.
- Recommend engineering decisions, assess deviations and waivers, develop risk assessments, and implement authorized changes to the Certification Basis.
- Collaborate with the Systems Safety Lead on safety and statutory matters related to certification management.
- Review engineering deliverables across the systems engineering life cycle, providing compliance input and advice.
- Attend and contribute to certification boards.
- Support the development, review, and update of certification plans and processes.
- Provide technical support to ensure compliance with Defence Engineering & Technical (E&T) policies and Navy policies.
Security Requirements
- Must have a baseline Defence security clearance or higher.
Essential Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience with relevant qualifications).
- Minimum 15 years’ experience in design and engineering management.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in a Defence or related technical industry.
- Experience in making engineering decisions within a complex regulatory framework and ensuring safe operations.
- Strong client and staff engagement, relationship, and communication skills.
- In-depth expertise in engineering discipline and broad knowledge of other engineering areas.
- Eligible for membership of a recognised professional body and registration as Chartered Engineer.
- Eligible for ITAR clearance of relevant ship systems.
