Zitron Australia Pty Ltd is a growing, ventilation fan manufacturing company, suppling industrial fan units to the mining and road tunnel sector, based in the southern suburbs of Perth.
An exciting opportunity exists for a talented Engineering Draftperson with experience in BIM modelling, to join the fast-growing Australian arm of an international group that is a global leader in the field of ventilation for underground mines, road and railway tunnels, and metro systems.
The company is part of a group that operates in over 80 countries on 5 continents. In Australia, the company has supplied the ventilation required for the construction and long-term operation of many of the nation's major underground transport infrastructure projects.
Qualifications & experience:
- An advantage to have approximately 5-10 years' experience in a similar role.
- Experience in understanding the basics of mechanical and structural engineering and in applying different Australian and international standards i.e. AS 1100 and AS 4100
- Familiar with CAD software like Autocad, Inventor, Revit and PTC CREO
- Familiar with BIM interfacing systems in infrastructure projects.
- Capable of working under pressure and in a multicultural environment.
- An advantage to have Certificate IV in Engineering Drafting
- An advantage to have experience within steel fabrication / manufacturing industry, including knowledge of material standards and welding symbols in Australia.
- An advantage to have knowledge of welding, fabrication, design principles.
- Familiar with quality control process and the need of specific dimensions shown in drawings so the QA/QC can be carried out.
- Permit to work in Australia
Tasks & responsibilities:
- Integrate 3D models from different equipment obtained from different suppliers and sources into overall tunnel ventilation system by using BIM tools.
- Resolving spatial coordination issues by using BIM tools.
- Escalate unresolved coordination issues to the relevant engineering lead.
- Ensures that the model aligns with the standards and goals set in the BIM Execution Plan and BIM project workflow criteria.
- Coordinate design documentation as a methodology with full utilization of BIM software and tools
- Prepare project drawings including layouts and interface drawings with other disciplines.
- Support the sales team with preliminary drawing for tenders.
- Review drawings and material lists produced by Zitron or other suppliers overseas i.e. Zitron head office in Europe and identify potential gaps with locally available material or local standard compliance.
- Actively collaborate modifying overseas drawings and designs to close these gaps.
- Ensure that all work is completed in compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of all drawings and revisions.
- Prepare design packages for Project Manager/Engineer to validate.
- Positive attitude, support workshop with technical experience and knowledge
