Skillinvest has an excellent opportunity for an Apprentice Fabricator to start work with our valued host employer located in Pakenham. Suitable applicants must have a genuine interest in pursuing metal fabrication as a career path, be eager to learn and have a good work ethic. Undertaking this apprenticeship will allow you to learn the practical skills including TIG & MIG welding while also completing a nationally recognised qualification in Engineering. During your apprenticeship not only will you have experienced tradesmen teaching you, you will also have the support and mentoring of a dedicated consultant. The successful candidate may also be eligible for a government incentive of $5000 over the first 2 years of their apprenticeship.
Duties include:
- Measure and cut steel
- Fabrication or items and parts
- Read Designs
- Customise designs or equipment as required
- Cleaning and general factory maintenance
- MIG Welding
- TIG Welding
- Assist Tradesmen with large scale projects
Requirements:
- Enthusiastic attitude & strong commitment
- Ability to undertake physical work
- Ability and willingness to learn how to read diagrams
- Able to work as member of a team
- Willingness for early starts
- Able to follow instructions
