Operations Manager - Consulting

GreenTec Group (GreenTec Consulting & Sigma Geo Environment) is a specialist consulting firm based in Brisbane and are currently looking to grow our Brisbane team with exciting design and construction projects located Australia wide.  We are looking for a Principal Civil Engineering consulting professional to oversee a range of engineering consulting projects while assisting to build business and capability in the team. You will be responsible for planning, organising, and directing the completion of specific projects for GreenTec Group while ensuring these projects are on time, on budget, and within scope. 

Reporting to the Managing Director, you will help identify opportunities to increase revenue and to improve efficiency. As part of the executive team, contribute to the company strategies and business performance. 

In this diverse Operations Manager role, your responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Oversee the day to day consulting operations, managing staff, and ensuring the delivery of projects on time and on budget. 
  • Leadership of the Engineering Consulting team to deliver successful projects to our clients.  
  • Build and maintain close relationships at multiple levels with key client organisations and strategic partners. 
  • Collaborating with Principal Engineers to manage engineering consulting business activity to effectively scope new business, plan and cost projects and prepare proposals. 
  • Participate and contribute to function as a lead consultant in client liaison, writing reports and personally managing key projects. 

We aren’t your typical consultancy, although our outputs may be the same quality as large consulting firms, our aim is to provide practical advice and innovative solutions for our clients guiding them through from approvals, to construction and operations through closure and rehabilitation or landfill, mining and CSG projects. Minimum Requirements - Operations Manager

  • Minium of 10 years experience in engineering sector within Australia. 
  • A degree in Civil, Geotechnical or Environmental Engineering. 
  • Hold Engineers Australia chartered status in one of the degree fields above.
  • Extensive knowledge of legislation associated with the Civil Construction Industry and understanding all HSEQ requirements would be beneficial. 
  • Knowledge of waste/dam infrastructure and construction practices is desirable, but not essential 
  • Experience in large earthworks/geosynthetics projects.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work. 
  • High level of IT proficiency, computer literacy, MS Office Suite
  • Current Australian drivers licence. 
  • Advanced analytical skills and ability to challenge existing practices to identify justifiable improvement opportunities.
  • Very strong communication skills, both oral and written with a demonstrated ability to discuss a wide range of issues to people across all levels of the organisation.
  • Excellent relationship building, problem solving, negotiation and leadership skills.
  • A positive, proactive, can-do attitude, combined with strong time management and organisation skills.
  • Self-motivated and can demonstrate initiative. 
  • High personal and professional work standards with sound planning and organisational skills 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail, able to make decisions quickly and able to work in a fast-paced environment efficiently. 
  • A positive can-do attitude and team player. 
  • Full working rights and Australian Driver license is a must.
