About the role
Are you looking for an Exciting and Challenging role in Operations Management?
The Queensland Operations Manager (Senior Engineer) is accountable for overseeing the established Queensland departmental goals, including Workplace Health & Safety, team wellbeing, management and growth, client relationships, quality management, profitability, business development, project performance, and continuous improvement. Additionally, to identify growth opportunities; both financially and operationally, plus collaborate on future Queensland company growth.
To be successful in this role you will be a 10+ year Senior Engineer, with experience in the food & beverage or pharmaceutical & cosmetics industries, whilst successfully managing operational requirements and daily demands. Additionally, you will work alongside clients, managing capital installation works and process improvement projects from start to finish.
Reports to the National Operations Manager.
This is a permanent, full-time position.
Key responsibilities include:
- Actively demonstrate and promote Bright's values & policies.
- Lead and oversee Wellbeing, Health, and Safety.
- Lead, develop, and manage the Queensland team, departmental objectives, activities, budgets, and targets.
- Develop strong, collaborative, and productive relationships within the team, clients, suppliers and industry networks.
- Apply sound engineering principles, knowledge, and judgement.
- Complete design work using relevant regulations, codes of practice, Australian and International standards, as well as internal documentation and templates.
- Perform duties necessary to meet company, client, and government standards.
- Accurate and timely reporting as per company requirements.
- Present problem solving of service issues to drive understanding and improvement.
- Drive continuous improvement, service and operational excellence.

Skills and experience
You are already an experience operations or departmental manager, hands-on engineer with recent, relevant industry experience and have a sound industry network.

- Minimum 10+ years' experience working in a related field.
- Recognised Engineering degree, with CPEng and RPEQ. (Mechanical or Chemical preferred)
- Working knowledge of Federal, State, and local regulations and Australian standards and their interactions.
- Program Management experience desirable.
- Operational planning, executing, and reporting experience.
- Knowledge of current design systems and methods and the ability to complete mechanical/process calculations.
- Demonstrated practical experience, strong ethics, and hands-on involvement.
- AutoCAD & MS Project skills well regarded.
- Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident, living in Queensland with the right to work in Australia.
