Engineering Team Lead

A major Oil & Gas company working on a range of large-scale renewable projects here in Western Australia.

Your new role 

Taking a leading role in the performance management of the Engineering Contractor's cost, quality and schedule delivery, and reporting to the Engineering Manager, the position will lead a team of discipline engineers responsible for the engineering delivery of the FEED and following Engineering phases of the Project through to Execute.

• Team leadership of the Engineering Team, including resolution of multi-discipline, technical problems.
• Work closely with the Engineering Manager to deliver the facilities design and engineering in conformance with the companies standards and Engineering Technical Practices, Project specifications and industry standards, to ensure a safe and cost-effective design.  
• Provide leadership and direction to the multi-discipline Engineering and Procurement Contractor’s facilities Engineering Teams
• Ensure the engineering Contractor Engineering team delivers against the relevant standards and specifications.  
• Take a leading role in the management of engineering deliverables.
• Leadership of Engineering Performance Reporting via the DPM (Digital Performance Management) 
• Support the Engineering Manager to ensure compliance and conformance with Operating Management Systems and Project Processes 
• Delegate Authority from the Engineering Manager to review and approve contractor's engineering deliverables, time sheets, and personnel approvals  

What you'll need to succeed 

• Engineering Degree
• Chartered Professional Engineer
• Substantial experience in a similar industry role, managing teams of discipline engineers.
• Experience in a major project delivery environment leading an Engineering Team.
• Demonstrable experience of undertaking multi-discipline decision making in a key engineering role.
• Experience managing third party design contractors.
• Proactive, performance-biased skills and track record of delivery.
• The candidate should have a working knowledge of industry and government standards.

Desirable Criteria:

• Knowledge of Engineering Contractor performance management.
• Experience working in FEED stages of a project.
• Actively engages and respects contributions of others.
• Willingly takes the lead when challenges occur.
