Based in Sydney, the Engineering Team Leader will effectively manage the workflow and resources of your assigned Engineering Team – ensuring on time and budget delivery of including delivery of white paper certificate (WPC)s and
Engineering Consulting projects.
You will be responsible for the quality and consistency of outputs, as well as ensuring that resources are appropriately assigned to meet customer and business needs. You will also be involved in the project and/or programme management of key strategic projects. You will need to gain a good understanding of all products we offer such as creation of WPCs, measurement and verification activities, so that you can provide the team with insight and guidance. The Team Leader must also maintain effective long-term planning of workflow, resources (both employees and equipment) and skills development.
Lead the change, from the frontline
With honesty, integrity and respect, you will:
- Daily management of the Engineering team. You ensure budgets are met by driving your team and providing the necessary resources to meet the budgets and timeframes set by the business;
- Ensure continued WPC compliance with scheme requirements across the delivery team;
- Manage your own projects to ensure these are delivered on time, within budget and to a high technical standard;
- Tracking of your team’s performance on a regular basis in regard to volume of certificates and engineering revenue, generated each month;
- You work with the Head of Engineering to develop and implement the company’s strategic direction;
- You work with the Engineering Team to develop product and process improvements; and
- New product opportunities are identified and plans put in place to capitalise on these.
What you’ll bring
Here’s what you’ll need to thrive in this role:
- Extensive work experience in energy management;
- Experience leading a team, preferably within the engineering industry;
- Developed energy engineering skills;
- An appreciation and respect for technical innovation;
- An understanding of Shell Energy Australia’s developed intellectual property and how this can be used to deliver solutions to customers;
- Experience and ability to manage engineering projects and/or multi-site roll outs;
- Excellent data analysis and report writing skills;
- Excellent time management and organisation skills;
- Clear, professional and articulate communication;
- Good problem-solving skills;
- High levels of initiative; and
- An effective team player.
