Position Overview:
Reporting to the CEO, the Engineering Technologist will play a crucial role in supporting technical aspects of solar projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop solar power systems, including solar panels, inverters, and energy storage systems.
- Conduct site assessments to determine optimal system configurations and layouts.
- Prepare technical drawings and specifications for solar installation projects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, electricians, and construction crews.
- Perform cost estimation and develop budgets for solar projects.
- Conduct performance testing and analysis of installed systems.
- Connect electrical wiring to panels and inverters, and ensure systems are functioning properly.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of solar installations.
- Install, maintain, and repair solar photovoltaic (PV) systems on residential, commercial, and industrial properties.
- Select appropriate materials and components for solar systems.
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on installed solar PV systems.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot system malfunctions and performance issues.
- Replace defective components and update software as needed.
- Calculate system size, energy production, and financial payback.
- Select appropriate materials and components for solar systems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
- Experience in solar PV system design and implementation.
- Proficiency with design software such as AutoCAD and PVsyst.
- Strong understanding of renewable energy technologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Experience with solar PV system installation and maintenance.
- Knowledge of electrical wiring and photovoltaic systems.
