Qualifications Offered:

  • MEM30219 Certificate III in Engineering (Mechanical Trade)
  • MEM31922 Certificate III in Engineering (Fabrication Trade)
  • MEM30719 Certificate III in Marine Craft Construction
  • MEM31119 Certificate III in Engineering – Composites Trade
  • MEM40119 Certificate IV in Engineering
  • MEM50119 Diploma of Engineering – Advanced Trade
  • MEM80122 Graduate Diploma of Engineering

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide training and assessment duties to students enrolled with the RTO.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • TAE40110 / TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or equivalent) or willingness to obtain one.
  • Previous vocational experience in the certificates the Tutor will be delivering/assessing.
  • Understanding of RTO and Standards for RTOs 2015 compliance standards and ESOS National Code 2020 requirements.
  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills with the ability to relate to “all walks of life”.
  • Excellent presentation and training skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills, with knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to apply innovative training techniques, create original and adaptable session plans, and contribute to Training Package developments.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, adding value through efficient and proactive behavior.
  • Ability to self-manage, self-plan, and self-motivate.
  • Adaptable and flexible in times of change with a commitment to continuous improvement.

Position Objectives:

  • Provide quality education services through training and assessing students in the courses offered by the RTO.
  • Support students in their educational goals.
  • Meet the Standards for RTOs 2015 requirements & ESOS National Code 2020.
  • Adhere to the RTO’s policies and procedures in all work conduct.

Key Tasks:

Training & Assessment Duties:

  • Deliver high-standard education to all students within the RTO.
  • Facilitate student learning by preparing and/or using effective training notes and teaching resources.
  • Support students in their learning by identifying learning requirements, designing individual training programs, and coaching to improve performance.
  • Assess students’ performance against course competency criteria and recommend additional training if necessary.
  • Validate and use lesson plans and assessment tools for each Unit of Competency.
  • Ensure students gain access to relevant RTO services through appropriate referrals.
  • Satisfy training and development needs by researching, designing, or learning training programs.
  • Ensure compliance with Standards for RTOs 2015 and ESOS National Code 2020 in student records management systems.
  • Provide accurate reporting of student attendance and academic progress.
  • Report any issues or concerns related to students, resources, or other RTO-related issues to the Campus Coordinator.
  • Maintain industry and training/assessment knowledge through workshops, professional publications, personal networks, and professional associations.
  • Maintain knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety standards while training.
  • Coordinate or contribute to the coordination of the course delivery team if required.
  • Maintain and order training consumables needed for training and assessments.
  • Regularly communicate and liaise with staff to ensure consistent delivery.
  • Organize and lead course team meetings.

General Duties:

  • Provide support to management, trainers, and other RTO staff as required.
  • Perform other tasks related to the operation of the RTO as directed by management.
