Engineering Workshop Technician

Indrotech Pty Ltd specialize in the manufacture and service of industrial fans, commercial and automotive driveshafts and offers industrial balancing services.

We are seeking enthusiastic, self-driven individuals who are presentable, motivated and work well in a team environment and are ready to join an industrious workshop in a friendly work environment and fabulous team culture.

Your primary tasks will begin with our standard workshop duties in our Driveshaft/Tailshaft section such as, general pressing, cutting, fitting components, welding and operating our 4  Plane Schenck balancing machine. Once you have successfully completed all aspects of this, you will be trained to operate our 2 plane Schenck industrial  balancing machine. This involves safely setting up a variety of rotating components, programing the measuring unit and again safely learn and understanding the skill of Industrial Balancing.

In time from that point we will introduce you to our general lathe work, if interested, our milling machine, forming metal parts in the Industrial Fan sector provided you show an interest, general painting, and much, much more. In-house training will be provided in all above processes and aspects of the workshop. We cannot expect you to know these processes however, should you have the experience, you will most certainly be shortlisted and remunerated accordingly should you be successful.  

To be a successful candidate you must live in Melbourne, be an Australian Citizen and preferably have some previous experience in an Engineering Workshop environment. OR  be a young individual who is exploring their career options and would simply like to ‘give it a go…’ We would more than happy to train you up.

We would also require someone who is good at interacting with others, an excellent team member who can communicate with co-workers and be prepared to learn new skills under our standard processes and procedures. 

The applicants will also have:

• A proven ability to work within a close-knit team environment, but also independently;

• Engineering aptitude;

• An appreciation in a specialized engineering manufacturing sector;

• Be prepared to get their hands dirty;

• Be computer literate;

• Have a high level of self-confidence, motivation and determination to succeed;

• An ability to manage multi-tasks at times;

• A high level of attention to detail;

• A professional and positive attitude.
