The Biomaterials and Engineering in the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) is seeking motivated engineering and scientific specialists to contribute to technical investigation and testing projects for a range of medical devices across a range of engineering and scientific disciplines. Our work contributes to positive health outcomes for the Australian public.
We are looking to fill a range of immediate and upcoming vacancies across a range of teams.
An immediate opportunity exists for a candidate to join our mechanical and materials testing team.
Additionally, future opportunities are expected across other teams for roles related to in-vitro diagnostics, biocompatibility, materials science, biomedical/electrical/mechanical/software engineering, cyber security and smart devices (including machine learning and artificial intelligence). A merit pool will be established, covering all these areas.
Successful candidates will develop and deliver engineering and scientific-based testing projects for medical devices; make expert contributions to technical investigation and assessments of laboratory data; and lead and contribute to innovative practices in the Section and Branch. Successful candidates will be able to work effectively with others and communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing.
There may be opportunities to contribute to ongoing projects in other sections of the TGA that regulate medical devices, including assessment of medical devices applying for registration in Australia, investigations into device incident reports for current products and in policy development and regulatory reform.
