About You
Marist College Kogarah is seeking an outstanding and dedicated English Teacher to join our dedicated team in 2024.
The successful applicant will be committed to the Catholic ethos of the College and have the proven ability to utilise contemporary teaching strategies to engage and challenge students in an effective and supportive learning environment.
This is a permanent, full-time position starting Monday, 3 June 2024. New graduates are invited to apply.
To be successful for this role, you must demonstrate;
- a commitment to Catholic Education, with a clear understanding of the vision and mission of Catholic Schools and a willingness to support the faith formation of students
- a qualification and experience in teaching English in Stages 4, 5 and 6
- an ability to facilitate dynamic and collaborative learning experiences
- a commitment to academic excellence
- exemplary classroom practice, utilising a range of contemporary, evidence based pedagogical approaches that support effective learning
- capability to empower students to be independent and creative learners
- an ability to create a culture of excellence and high expectations through positive support of student learning
- an understanding of current educational research including assessment practices, differentiation and effective feedback
- highly developed interpersonal skills demonstrating an ability to effectively communicate with parents, students and staff
- an ability to work collaboratively in a team environment to promote a shared commitment to teaching and learning.
Desirable Criteria:
- experience in teaching Extension English and Advanced English Higher School Certificate Courses
- accreditation to teach Religious Education in Sydney Catholic Schools.
Your qualifications:
- a tertiary qualification in Education.
- active accreditation with NSW Standards Authority (NESA)
- SCS Employee ID Number or a commitment to Register to Teach in SCS.
