Overview
You will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse to deliver direct nursing care to patients within the practice setting and within the boundaries of your education and skills. You will assist with the provision of professional high quality patient care within the unit, aimed at improving patient health outcomes through the implementation of appropriate nursing care and undertaking or assisting with general and specialised procedures from a nursing care plan. You will plan and prioritise your own work program to achieve defined outcomes and exercise judgement when it is required to solve problems arising in your own work program. You will assist with the provision of a safe patient environment and ensure that patient incidents are investigated and documented and that action is taken to prevent their recurrence. You will contribute to the achievement of your own professional expertise through the maintenance of ongoing professional development by commencing a portfolio of post enrolment learning to maintain the knowledge and competencies to function effectively and to provide competent care.
You will be registered as an Enrolled Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and hold a current practising certificate. You will have experience within the boundaries of your education and skill preparation, in the provision of nursing care in the healthcare setting. Your skills will include the ability to maintain confidentiality, prioritise your workload, verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work within a multidisciplinary team environment
