Overview
Working under the direction of a Registered Nurse, you will assist in the provision of person-centred care across the acute and aged care areas of the Mount Pleasant District Hospital and residential care facilities. This will include assessment, care and routine procedures that contribute to improving patient health outcomes. As part of your role, you will contribute to providing health education to patients, families and their carers. You will maintain cooperative and productive working relationships with all members of the health care team, and where required may oversee the work of an Assistant in Nursing or student nurses. Providing evidenced based care and developing your clinical skills, you will keep up to date with professional standards of practice and contribute to quality improvement initiatives to ensure high standards of care delivery.
You will be enrolled or eligible for enrolment as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and hold or be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate. Demonstrating experience in the provision of nursing care in acute and aged care nursing in accordance with the appropriate standards of practice, you will have sound knowledge of the role of the Enrolled Nurse in this setting. You will work well within a multidisciplinary team environment and possess effective verbal and written communication skills. With a commitment to providing person-centred care, you will bring the ability to prioritise workload, recognise and report changes in clinical condition and work with diverse communities in a culturally appropriate manner.
