Overview
Working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse/Midwife, you will assist with the provision of professional high quality nursing care aimed at improving patient health outcomes. Maintaining cooperative and productive working relationships with all members of the South Coast District Hospital team, you will implement appropriate nursing care and assist with general and specialised procedures from nursing care plans. You will plan and prioritise your own work program to achieve defined outcomes and exercise judgment when it is required to solve problems arising in your work area. You will also provide verbal and documented information within your scope of practice to patients, other health care team members, and members of the public.
South Coast District Hospital provides a comprehensive range of medical and surgical services to patients from across the Fleurieu Peninsula and surrounding communities. Our hospital provides 24-hour emergency care and acute inpatient medical and surgical services. These include day surgery, maternity and obstetric care, palliative care, cancer care, renal dialysis and cardiac rehabilitation and pulmonary rehabilitation. Radiology and Pathology services are also located on-site.
You will be enrolled or eligible for enrolment as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and hold or be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate. With experience within the boundaries of your education and skill preparation, you will be capable of providing nursing care in accordance with the appropriate standards of practice. Your effective verbal and written communication skills will enable you to work well within a multidisciplinary team environment.
