The Enterprise Architecture CoE provides coverage for all of IT architecture for the Group. The CoE's Technology Services cluster focuses on infrastructure technologies and services. The Suncorp Group has been an early adopter of public cloud services.

As the 'servant leader' of the CoE's Technology Services cluster, you will coordinate the work of an experienced team of Enterprise Architects while also practicing the discipline of Enterprise Architecture, with a specialist focus on Technology Architecture.

As a proven Enterprise Architect and team leader you will play a significant role in transforming and evolving our infrastructure landscape of compute, storage, and networking to operate in the optimum manner on the cloud, leading exciting initiatives.

The Technology Services cluster works closely with the other clusters within the Enterprise Architecture CoE and with colleagues in Solution Architecture and Engineering teams. You will interact with our executive leadership team in providing strategic advice on infrastructure technology services to achieve our ambition of utilising technology in the best way to support the Group.

You will contribute to defining architectural standards, guidance, and guardrails to enable effective and efficient use of infrastructure technology services across the Group.

What you'll do

  • Be the servant leader of the Enterprise Architecture CoE's Technology Services cluster'
  • Represent the cluster within the CoE and externally within the Technology and Operations organisation
  • Provide specialised technical leadership on infrastructure technologies and their architectural positioning within solutions
  • Evangelise the discipline of Enterprise Architecture by demonstrating its value and promoting its effective use across the group
  • Evangelise the optimum use of technology services in an architected manner
  • Be accountable for Enterprise Architecture governance for the cluster
  • Ensure that infrastructure aspects of Solution Architectures are consistent with the Enterprise Architecture
  • Liaise with internal teams in Solution Architecture and Engineering
  • Be current on technology services in scope: compute, storage, and networking on public cloud (e.g., AWS and Azure) for business applications, end-user computing, collaboration technologies, integration technologies, etc.
  • Support the definition and adoption of best practices and patterns
  • Keep a focus on complying with the Group's security, privacy, risk, compliance and other standards and processes.
  • Leading the development of group and infrastructure architecture standards and roadmaps
  • Contribute to the definition of technology strategies and roadmaps for infrastructure

What you'll bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related discipline
  • Preferable an Enterprise Architecture certification (e.g., TOGAF)
  • Minimum 15 years of IT experience
  • Minimum 10 years of Enterprise Architecture and Solution Architecture experience
  • Minimum 5 years of enterprise-scale public cloud adoption (e.g., on AWS or Azure)
  • Familiarity with ArchiMate
  • Experience with Scaled Agile and DevOps practices
  • Insurance industry experience is desirable
  • Consulting background is advantageous
  • Team leadership experience
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills
