The Opportunity

Reporting to the Head of Data Services, this role sits within a close-knit team who are passionate and focussed on raising the data maturity of our organisation and delivering great data solutions to our people and clients.

In this role you will be responsible for ensuring the accessibility, usability, safety and trustworthiness of Insignia Financials’ data and information. This entails overseeing all aspects of the data and information lifecycle in accordance with established and evolving data governance principals.

Additionally, you will serve as the data ambassador for one or more data domains bridging the gap between the data centre of excellence and the user community. Your role will involve advocating for best practices in data management, governance and quality to ensure that business teams have the necessary safeguards in place. You will need to develop in depth understanding of the data domains you represent and how the business is using that data. You will also provide support to the information owners in safeguarding against reputational and regulatory risks while simultaneously promoting process improvements.

Furthermore, you will cultivate effective working relationships with management, internal staff and third-party partners. Your responsibilities will encompass conducting root cause analysis and facilitating problem resolution. It is essential to stay updated on changes in privacy and data laws and adapt to changes as needed.

What we look for in a successful candidate:

First and foremost you will have a wealth of experience in information management and a deep understanding of best practices in this field. A tertiary qualification specializing in Data Governance or Information Management would be highly advantageous.

It would be great if you have strong experience in both Agile and Waterfall project delivery methodologies, as well as a comprehensive grasp of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) framework. An essential part of the role involves being well-versed in Data Governance principals, relevant information obligations, legislation, policies, and standards. You should also bring experience in delivering or supporting information solutions and technologies, with a keen awareness of associated risks, and the ability to collaborate effectively with consultants.

Furthermore, having a solid grasp of the business domain is crucial, especially within the financial services sector, with a particular emphasis on superannuation.

Last but not least you will have the ability to influence, engage and think strategically and tactically. Effective communication and problem-solving skills are highly valued, and you should be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team. Your strong consulting background will be an asset in this role.
