Our ESG Advisory & Assurance (Sustainability) team work with organisations to help them manage the risks and opportunities associated with non-financial issues, and to enhance all aspects of reporting and communication. We also provide assurance services for overall non-financial disclosures to enhance the credibility of reported information. Your Opportunity 

Our Environmental team help organisations meet their environmental compliance obligations, and go beyond compliance to enhance their environmental performance, in key sectors including infrastructure, government, mining, power and utilities, transport, defence, energy, oil and gas and retail. 

In response to a growing demand for our environmental advisory services, there is an exciting opportunity for an experienced environmental professional to join our team in Sydney.  

KPMG's environmental specialists support a wide variety of Australian and International organisations with a multitude of environmental advisory services in both the public and private sectors, including: 

  • Planning and delivery of environmental compliance audits. 
  • Development, implementation, and review of Environmental Management Systems to ISO 14001. 
  • Identification and assessment of environmental risks and opportunities. 
  • Development, implementation and review of environmental strategy, targets and initiatives including Key Performance Indicators. 
  • Natural capital, biodiversity, and conservation. 
  • Identification, implementation, and review of corrective actions to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. 
  • Management and reporting of environmental compliance data. 
  • Design and develop environmental compliance frameworks, management systems, policies, processes, guidelines, procedures, and controls to enhance environmental management performance. 
  • Environmental Due Diligence. 
  • Technical environmental advisory across subjects such as water footprints, mine closure, water stewardship and management. 
  • Environmental components of broader sustainability / ESG strategies.

Your Experience

  • Excellent knowledge of environmental management and compliance, with demonstrated strong experience in environmental compliance auditing and advisory, conducting risk identification and assessment, designing Environmental Management Systems and / or Frameworks and developing and implementing corrective actions and mitigation controls. 
  • Ability to apply relevant environmental legislation, regulation, standards and codes of practice to both compliance auditing and advisory services. 
  • Experience in physical compliance auditing across various sectors, including infrastructure, government, Defence, water, waste and mining. 
  • General environmental technical expertise across a range of areas including biodiversity, water, waste, air quality. 
  • Environmental lead auditor accreditation would be very favourably considered. 
  • Experience across a variety of sectors, with a strong skillset in infrastructure, government, Defence, water, waste and mining. 
Qualifications

Relevant tertiary qualification in environmental or natural sciences, including engineering with an environmental or science focus and/or a Master's degree or other relevant post-graduate environmental qualifications will be very favourably considered.
