We are an Australian Gold explorer, developer, and producer who has been operating since 2009 and is focused on gold exploration and production in Western Australia.
Located in the Eastern Wheatbelt region of WA, Southern Cross Operations is the flagship operation for the company and holds a tenement package of approximately 1,400km2 with significant exploration potential. The operation consists of a 1.8Mtpa processing plant, one active underground mine, two active open pits and new mine opportunities on the horizon. This will be a full time role on an 8/6 roster, BIBO from Perth or DIDO to Marvel Loch option available.
About the role:
Reporting to the Senior Advisor and/or Environmental Manager, you will be supporting and assisting the Environmental team with respect to environmental, sustainability and environmental awareness at the Southern Cross Operations.
Your key duties and responsibilities will include but not limited to;
- Promote environmental awareness and training across the operation;
- Conduct various monitoring onsite, including water, dust and noise and vibration;
- Conduct drone landform monitoring;
- Manage the monitoring and compliance data for the operation;
- Assist with reporting and compliance obligations for the operation;
- Assist with rehabilitation, including participation in seeding programmes.
About You:
- A tertiary qualification in Environmental Science or equivalent.
- Current "C" Class Western Australian Drivers License
- National Police Clearance or able to obtain
- Minimum one (1) year relevant experience in the mining / resources industry and on-site experience
- Knowledge of WA legislative requirements under the Mining Act and the EPA Act.
- Understanding of environmental risks and impacts associated with mining and mineral processing operations.
- A positive attitude and committed to instilling positive change
- Experience using ArcGIS mapping software
