The role of the Environmental & Sustainability Advisor is to support the delivery of project environmental and Sustainability requirements, objectives and targets & Promote environmental awareness with project personnel and build a strong environmental culture.
Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
- Obtain relevant approvals for permits, permissions and approvals for access or works that affect the environment.
- Ensuring environmental legal compliance are always met.
- Ensure that environmentally acceptable working methods and practices are implemented to enable operations to be carried out without environmental harm.
- Report, investigate and implement corrective and/or preventive actions resulting from identification of environmental hazards and incidents within the agreed timescale.
- Ensure MCD Corporate and Project Environmental and Sustainability KPIs are achieved.
- Provide support to Framework outputs for environmental incident investigations,including reporting and close out of corrective actions.
- Provide staff and workers with adequate environmental knowledge, skills and behaviours to work in an environmentally responsible manner at all times.
- Provide technical environmental advice to onsite H&S Advisors, crews and Framework staff.
- Follow all relevant health and safety procedures and requirements at all times.
- Environmental site inspections carried out weekly and recorde
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant environmental field and minimum of two (2) years of
- experience in a civil construction environment.
- Clear and concise communication skills.
- Promotes and encourages a culture of Environmental and safety awareness, sets a positive
- example for all site personnel and is a team player.
- Implementation and monitoring of environmental management plans and site
- environmental controls.
- Ensuring construction compliance against licenses, permits, management plans and
- legislation.
- Undertake scheduled monitoring and reporting requirements accurately and efficiently.
- Competent user of in-house software, with working knowledge of wider applications.
