About the Role.
In this role, you will be integral in aligning and improving safety performance by positively influencing site safety practices and behaviours. The role will provide on-going advice, guidance, coaching, mentoring and support to the management team and branch employees.
We are looking for a highly motivated part-time (20hrs per week) Safety and Sustainability Advisor to oversee the management of Safety and Sustainability across our Australian Operations.
This position is a national role requiring significant travel and reports directly to the Hallite Managing Director with a dotted line to the Director of Safety and Sustainability based in Houston. You will be part of a dynamic team of people based at either our Brisbane, Sydney, or Adelaide office with WFH options available.
About You.
To be successful in the role, you will demonstrate the following:
- Coach and lead the site in reviewing, creating and maintaining Health & Safety policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines
- Identify and mitigate safety risks in the workplace
- Maintain ISO 45001 and 9001 accreditations
- The passion and ability to continuously improve business processes and procedures
- Strong interpersonal skills to engage, motivate, and support the growth and development of a strong safety culture
- The ability to interpret legislation, regulations, and standards, and provide practical guidance on how to implement their requirements
- The ability to work autonomously, meet deadlines, and set and achieve goals in line with organisational plans
- Working closely with the Director of Safety and Sustainability to capture and report on sustainability metrics according to Michelin requirements.
- Willingness to travel regularly.
Essential Qualifications and experience:
- Demonstrated minimum 3+ years’ experience in Health and Safety
- Diploma or Degree in Safety desirable plus relevant manufacturing/warehouse/heavy industry experience
- Driver’s Licence
- Strong understanding of WHS Legislation and Risk
- Previous experience with sustainability metrics or a willingness to learn.
