1. Project Coordination and Management: 

  • Coordinate projects as directed by the Manager, including planning, scheduling, and conducting handover meetings to outline contract deliverables. 
  • Ensure clear identification and scheduling of all works, maintaining awareness among staff through regular updates. 
  • Schedule and ensure the availability of all necessary resources. 
  • Maintain communication with clients to meet contractual obligations and provide high-quality expert advice on environmental issues. 
  • Oversee the completion of projects, ensuring they meet client expectations, budgetary constraints, and quality standards. 

2. Staff Training and Development: 

  • Assist in determining and scheduling monthly training programs, facilitate sessions, and conduct follow-up training as needed. 
  • Participate in various meetings, including daily discussions with clients and contractors, weekly toolbox meetings, and performance reviews, to ensure ongoing staff development and performance evaluation. 

3. Client Relations and Communication: 

  • Liaise regularly with clients to understand their needs, maintain a register of communications, and deliver expert advice on a range of environmental issues. 
  • Prepare proposals, follow up on projects, and communicate with potential clients, maintaining records in the Sales Pipeline register. 

4. Fieldwork and Environmental Assessments: 

  • Coordinate and participate in fieldwork for environmental assessments, ensuring projects meet client expectations and comply with contractual obligations. 
  • Lead fieldwork activities, including flora and fauna surveys and habitat assessments, applying expert knowledge in ecology. 
  • Monitor project implementation to ensure compliance with budget and quality standards, and submit monthly reports to the Manager. 

5. Technical Expertise and Compliance: 

  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of relevant legislation pertaining to ecological monitoring, environmental permits, and licensing. 
  • Produce and review high-quality technical reports and written advice on ecology and environmental issues. 
  • Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety policies, business policies, procedures, and legal requirements. 

6. Administrative and Support Tasks: 

  • Undertake office administration tasks, including reception duties, handling mail and couriers, and maintaining a clean and safe workspace. 
  • Communicate any performance-impeding issues to the Manager promptly and contribute to quality control efforts. 
  • Assist in marketing the business, asking for referrals, and upselling products and services to existing customers. 
  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of the business and its policies, procedures, and processes, adhering to the organization's business system and Work Health Safety & Environmental policies. 

RESPONSIBLE FOR 

QUALIFICIATIONS AND EXPERIENCE 

  • Formal degree studies in  ecology / environmental science or equivalent. 
  • Practical understanding of relevant state and commonwealth legislation as it pertains to environmental practices. 
  • Intermediate to advanced understanding of GIS software including QGIS and ArcGIS.  
  • Ability to be able to read and interpret project scopes of work and assist in proposal formations and submissions to clients. 
  • Experience in conducting environmental and ecology investigations. 
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate a small project team in a service delivery environment.  
  • Be resilient in the workplace and fit for work to be able to undertake this role. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills which promote and sustain positive relationships with team members and clients. 
  • Experience in giving practical and compliant advice to clients. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.  
  • Organised and able to meet deadlines. 
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) 
  • First aid certificate 
  • Class C Drivers License 
  • Physically fit, resilient and capable of extensive field works as required with no limitations.
