- Investigative Expertise: Conduct thorough desktop and field-based investigations, applying intelligence-based risk assessment to prioritise water quality and asset protection actions.
- Legal Liaison: Manage the infringement process, gather evidence, and support legal proceedings.
- Environmental Stewardship: Proactively investigate environmental complaints, addressing pollution incidents, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Education and Training: Contribute to Environmental Compliance training and awareness campaigns for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborative Support: Assist in inspections and assessments alongside other WaterNSW officers as required.
- Qualifications: Hold a degree in environmental science, engineering, planning, or relevant field, or possess equivalent knowledge and demonstrated experience in Environmental Compliance activities and pollution investigations.
- Authorised Officer: Possess or have the ability to become one.
- Driver's Licence: Hold a current NSW Driver's Licence.
- Certification: Possess or have the ability to gain a Certificate IV in Government (Investigations or Statutory Compliance).
- Knowledge: Demonstrate sound knowledge of environmental issues related to water and wastewater, pollution, land management, and environmental planning.
- Experience: Have a minimum of three years' experience in environmental enforcement or compliance positions, with expertise in leading and conducting investigations.
