Environmental Manager

About the role
Initiate and drive best practice Environmental initiatives through managing strategic scope, compliance and performance strategies
Leading and managing a team of environmental professionals on project
Provide up to date intelligence (as a result of legislative changes), analysis, expert advice and recommendations to SMT and Key Stakeholders. Monitor changes to local and international environment policies.
Design and implement strategies to reduce environmental incidents/breaches
Providing advice to our construction and subcontractor teams in the areas of environmental management to deliver outstanding environmental outcomes
Developing and maintaining positive working relationships with the construction team, the Independent Environmental Monitor and the Client Environmental representatives
Lead internal audits against EMS
Developing, implementing and maintaining the Environmental Management Plans and associated documents
About You
Bachelor’s Degrees in environmental engineering, Science, Sustainability or other associated disciplines
Equivalent experience within a similar role in the Civil Construction industry
Demonstrated ability to work successfully and autonomously within a fast paced project environment and deliver on deadlines
Demonstrated ability to develop and carry out varied environmental monitoring regimes in compliance with relevant standards
Advanced Erosion and Sediment Control or equivalent experience
Strong ability to create and maintain key client and stakeholder relationships
Focus and commitment to a zero harm environment
Excellent leadership skills including project management skills, communication skills at all levels, horizontal and vertical negotiating skills and networking skills.
Australian driver’s license.
